Water only when the top inch of soil feels dry. Overwatering is the biggest mistake—once a week usually works well for Indian homes, with a bit more during summer.
Bright, indirect light is ideal. It can tolerate low light but the colours really shine with more filtered light. Avoid direct sunlight—it can scorch the leaves.
Best between 18°C–30°C. Keep away from cold drafts.
It does just fine in average indoor humidity; however, if your house is dry, put it on a pebble tray or group it with some other plants for a little humidity boost.
Use a light, well-draining mix—something like garden soil + cocopeat + perlite works well use Panpit General Soilless Mix. Make sure your pot has drainage holes.
Repot every 2–3 years or when the roots start crowding. Just go for one size bigger than the current pot.
Feed once a month during spring and summer using a diluted liquid fertilizer. No feeding needed in winter.
Snip off any yellow or damaged leaves from the base to keep it looking fresh. This also encourages new growth.
Easy to propagate from stem cuttings—just place them in water or moist soil. Do it during warm months for best results.
